Back For More

I let this blog lapse. Sorry. Been busy and didn't have a computer or camera. I fixed that so I'll start posting again. Anyways I've been in Kandahar for about 3-4 months working throughout the province. I'll start posting some pictures to give you an idea what this place looks like.
This is a view from the back of an MRAP driving into the city.

A view from the Governor's Compound.

This is my new room. Doesn't look like much but it's private and has AC.

The Other Side

I thought it was a keen title for where I am. A lot has happened since my last post. Went to language school, lots of range time and now I am in Afghansitan to start my 10 month tour. I think I am heading to Kandahar to conduct village stability and governance. Will see when I get there. Anyways, I'll try and keep this blog current. Was going to let it go but have a lot of time invested in it.

Mom Visits the Q Family

Hi, my mom visited and brought my two sisters. Had a great time showing them around DC and Viriginia. Some pics.

It was a long day and we didn't get back until dark. I think they had a good time.

Visit to DC

Hi, today the Q Family went to visit Washington DC. Our primary goal was to visit the Holocaust Museum. No pictures were allowed so none will be posted. Enjoy.

My Son, Innes Jr. I like to take random pics of him because he is a handsome devil,

like his dad.
A little bit of Autumn Red.

It was a nice day and lots of people out enjoying it.

The Metro station. Nice and dark and Gothic.
After all the walking we went to Ramparts Tavern for dinner. It was a great day. See you soon.

One last pic. At the Holocaust Museum we met Mark Strauss who is the author of several books, a great oil painter and a holocaust survivor. We didn't talk much but we bought a couple of his prints, introduced each other and shook hands. Mark seemed like a very humble man and requested that I send him a copy of this picture. I hope we meet again.
Thanks for visiting. vr

New Pics

So anyways, I took some pics of life in Virginia. Enjoy
I bought a new car. It's a 2012 Acura TL SW AWD. It's fast and fun.
Went to the Marine Corps Museum.

Saw a Harrier.

Watched my boy do pull-ups.

Saw another Harrier.

Saw the chapel I'll be buried at.  It was a great day. Thanks for looking.

Old Pictures

I was going through some older photos and thought I'd share. These were from a pet store in Seoul. I liked the aquariums. Nice colors. Enjoy.

Back in the US

It's been a while since I last posted. Got busy with life, moved from Korea, household goods shipment, school, work, etc. Anyways I will start updating this blog. I don't know if anyone even visits.
Latest data is the we moved to Alexandria, Va and rented a nice house near the Pentagon. Zena transferred to Marymount University and Innes Jr is preparing to join the Marines. Both cats made the trip well and like the new, big, house because it has carpet (traction). We miss Korea a lot. I recently started language school and will deploy to Afghanistan in Jan. My time at home is short so I try to spend as much time as possible with my kids. After 22 years with kids, the time has come for everyone to move on. It's hard but that's life. Pictures.
We moved into Ft Belvoir Temp Housing for ten days and it sucked. A storm hit and knocked the power out for about five days and it was hot. No TV, AC, fridge, etc. It sucked.
Went on a five-day fly fishing trip to Idaho. Had a great time and caught a lot of fish.
